The Music of David Ames

This is the music of my dad, David Ames. He wrote music for probably thirty years, from the 60s to the 90s. His music contains some wonderful ballads and funny country songs. A Day in the Life of Julius T Muckenfuss is a really fun song and For the Good Times is a beautiful ballad.  I think he tried to sell song of his music to Johnny Cash at one time.  I can defiantly hear some of his music on the radio. I remember many evenings sitting around the house listening to him play his music on his Gibson J50. Happiness is Now reminds me of some of the best of the Righteous Brothers. He was, and still may be,  a really creative song writer.

I really like the messages he has in his songs. I especially like For The Good Times.
His sense of humor comes out in a number of the songs.ie. Special Women. I will listen to these over and over again. Thank you for sending them.

These songs bring back so many memories of hearing David sing and play. It’s amazing how music can do that. His voice is reminiscent of Elvis for sure, but it also has a unique quality that is just David’s. The poetry of the words is funny, sharp, and touching. I’ll keep these recordings forever.

Love it! Especially The Life Of…….. and Another Day in the Life of…. Actually all the fast ones are great because they scream the personality of the composer. You are great, David!
